The Winston question

The Winston question
By: Heston Curry  2/27/2020

In 2015, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers used their first overall pick to draft quarterback Jameis Winston out of Florida State University.  At the time, many saw Jameis Winston as the future or the next big thing in the NFL.  5 years later, it is the post season of the NFL's 100th season and Jameis Winston is at the end of his contract.  In the 2019-2020 season, Winston led the league in passing yards, threw for 33 touchdowns and 30 interceptions and now a big question surrounds the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Where will Jameis Winston go?
As we all know, there are most likely going to be many teams in the NFL starting fresh with a new quarterback.  As it stands right now there will be 13 quarterbacks entering free agency from NFL rosters including Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers, and Tom Brady.  And in a time of total uncertainty all we can do is make speculations, so here are 3 NFL teams in my opinion that would take Jameis Winston on their roster based on the teams talent and coaching.

1. New Orleans Saints
Obviously, this list is all based off of my opinion and my speculation.  But the first team that comes to my mind when I think landing spots for Jameis Winston is the New Orleans Saints.  The Saints have a very tough decision with whether to let Drew Brees go or to sign him on another big contract.  I think it is the perfect landing spot for him overall.  The team has a really good coaching.  A whole bunch of talent and an offensive line that can actually hold their blocks,  I personally think in that type of quarterback situation it would be very foolish not to consider a guy like Jameis.

2. Miami Dolphins
Now as a Dolphins fan, this decision would be a dream come true.  The Miami dolphins were pretty bad last season and have been very mediocre for the last few seasons.  But if the Dolphins were to make the decision to go from most likely Tua Tagoviloa, a quarterback used to playing on a talented team to taking Jameis Winston,  I have a feeling for some reason it would be the best decision the Dolphins owners and executive owners have ever made.  Call me crazy or psychotic.  I think Brian Flores's system would benefit Jameis Winston in a huge way.  I personally think if the Dolphins wanted to win they would jump on Jameis Winston the day the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announce him a free agent.

3. Carolina Panthers
Carolina has almost all of the resources to be one of the very best teams in the NFL, they have an all pro running back and receiver in Christian Mccaffrey.  They have a very solid group of wide receivers, and a very good offensive line, but there are many speculations on the quarterback decision.  Cam Newton next season would be a high injury risk for the Carolina panthers.  This in my opinion would be most likely a temporary solution because of  Cam Newton but with the hiring of Matt Rhule at head coach I think if Carolina were to look at the future and it being without Cam Newton, I think this would benefit Carolina greatly if you are looking into a couple of years into the future.

The no call: A deep rewind

The no call, a little more than a year later... Heston Curry   4/14/20 Back in 2019, at the Marcedes-Benz superdome, we saw one of the worst no calls personally I have ever seen.  A uncalled pass interference call that would have given the Saints the ball at the 5 yard line, a new set of downs and with the Rams only having one timeout left, the Saints would have been able to run out the clock before scoring and leaving the Rams possibly only enough time for maybe a hail mary.  Even to this day I am pretty sure we all wonder to this day, what if the refs did call pass interference?  Well here is a full timeline from the NFC title game to the super bowl based on my opinion and possible prediction starting from that call to how I think it would have affected the super bowl. We will at first start with the penalty, the Rams are charged with the penalty and the Saints move up 10 yards because of the penalty getting the ball at the 3 yard line with more than ...

MLB talks about possible solution to have a season

Major League Baseball might give use something to watch after all By: Heston Curry 4/8/2020 After recent talks, major league baseball officials have had talks on a possible solution accepted by high ranking health officials to play at least part of the season. Major League Baseball has come up with a possible solution to play at least part of the major league baseball season in a undisclosed stadiums without fans in Arizona.  The season if it does happen will be a shorter season with possibly a 14 team expanded playoff . While there is still plenty of uncertainty on how this solution will play out, there is still hope that this could be the first step to establishing at least some sort of normalcy in these times and most importantly, give me at least something to write about for the first time in weeks. Now back on topic, the solution is not quite 100 percent yet, but how it would work is all major league baseball teams will travel to Arizona t...

3 future NFL offensive rookies that will make impact regardless of draft pick

3 players that I think will make an impact regardless of when they are selected in the draft (offense) 1. Jalen Hurts:  Probably one of the biggest questions going into the 2020 NFL draft is when Jalen Hurts will get drafted.  To me he is one of the most improved players in the draft.  Before last season I saw him as a 6th rounder at best because before, his arm did not really impress me at Alabama.  This season at Oklahoma, what impressed me was the way he improved week by week and got better as the season went on.  In the NFL I only see him getting better.  It might take a year or two on the bench before he gets a chance, but I do see him starting eventually. 2. Cam Akers:  When you talk about NFL draft Running Backs, I think the most ready running back power, speed, and size wise for the NFL is Cam Akers.  I really do not see why he is not a first rounder.  To me he has the all of the attributes of a top tier NFL running back....
